Boys and Jenna Talackova (the transgender Ms. Vancouver contestant), stand-up and cheer or pee to honour Andrew Rankin who received a patent for the urinal on this day in 1866. Did you know there are several types of urinals? See wiki. When you “go” where do you like to stand? I’m a “hide my package in the corner” kinda of guy. TSN’s James Duthie goes straight up the middle – especially when “hanging” out with Tiger Woods.
Every Monday morning around 8:20 we chat with James Duthie from the NHL on TSN (brought to you by the Loyal Oarsman). This week we chatted about Superbowl 46 and Madonna’s half-time performance. Check it.
Happy 197th Birthday to our first Prime Minister and the Father of Confederation Sir John A MacDonald. Celebrations will happen at noon today at City Park in Kingston and don’t forget to enjoy an ale in his honour at the Kingston Brewing Company (aka The Brew Pub). Oh, and I guess we should wish another Prime Minister Jean Chretien a happy 78th!!
This morning we chatted with the ghost of Sir John A. Have a listen.
Joe and I were roaming the streets for Move-Out weekend, and got ourselves stuck helping people move, pack/ jam their cars full of stuff!
Well, Joe did most of the actual MOVING….I, on the other hand, mainly relaxed on all of the “Outside” furniture. Check out more pics on the Drive fb page
The Envy stopped by today to do an acoustic song and chat about their tour, and working with Gene Simmons. They did a cool acoustic version out their song “Don’t Let Go” Live @ The Drive! Check it out!
Is it just me, or does this city really overuse the name and likeness of Sir John A MacDonald? I get that he lived in Kingston, and that he was our first Prime Minister (when the capitol was Kingston), I also get that he’s the closest thing Canadians have to George Washington or Abe Lincoln, but I believe we don’t need to have a prominent former leader in the same light as our neighbours to the south. I’m not saying we shouldn’t celebrate Sir John A’s birthday every year, or have a museum celebrating his life, or even have a street named after him, but I am saying that we should temper things before we have a John Eh’s Magical Fun Land theme park. Just a thought. Do you agree? Am I the only one who feels this way?
