“City and Colour was amazing and Dallas Green is so humble and was just sweetly honored that the crowd would come to see him. In his own words “I wasn’t planning on saying anything tonight and just play but Holy Shit.” lol There were goosebumps moments and I have the links from the show to just a couple of songs that blew us away like Save Your Scissors and The Girl. And to end the show, with great awe to the crowd, Gord Downie came from back stage to join in “Sleeping Sickness.”

KOL get pooped on This is the video from a story that Jenn had on yesterday’s Morning Rush Alt news. The Kings of Leon were playing a festival in St. Louis Missouri, when a few songs in the local pigeon population got a little too over excited and started…well, pooping all over the band. It’s kinda gross at 1:12 in when the drummer wipes something off his face and you realize that it’s….yeah. Kings had a 20 song set-list planned but had to stop the show three songs in. The first trailer for a movie based around the creators of Facebook features an orchestral reworking of Radiohead’s Creep with a Belgian choir. It sounds really cool, check it out below. The rest of the movie’s musical score will be done by Trent Reznor from Nine Inch Nails. The Facebook movie called “The Social Network” (directed by David Fincher who’s done some cool movies includeing Fight Club) will be out in October.

Hey San Francisco…Denver…Portland…Seattle…Minneapolis, WHAT THE HELL DID WE EVER DO TO YOU? An enviromental group is telling people to stay away from Alberta because of the effects of the oil sands. They’ve created a commercial and a web-site rethinkalberta.com At first I was outraged, then I thought…could this be true? Nah, it can’t be…not one of us…we couldn’t possibly be hurting anyone or anything. What do you think?
Surprise surprise, it didn’t work, the latest efforts to stop the BP oil spill did not succeed and it will likely continue till August. “Spill” is an understatement, take a look at the video! Warning: it is disturbing to watch! (and it changes, sometimes it’s showing work being done to try and stop said leak)

Kingstonian Jayna Hefford is an unbelievable hockey player…male or female. She is simply put, one of the best! Three Olympic gold medals and one silver…not to mention all the gold and silver World Championships. Not only is she a great hockey player, she’s an ambassador to the sport, she raises money for charity through golf tournaments, and develops female hockey players of tomorrow through her hockey school she runs in Kingston every summer. Just ask Meghan Agosta who attended it 9 years ago and now shares Olympic gold with Jayna.
I spoke with her and we chatted about the Olympics, gold medals, and, yes, the smokin’ and drinking. I love this picture by the way. Have a listen.
