Tonight Kingston Police is opening their doors to you!! Between 5:00-6:30 the public is invited to meet Chief Tanner, mascot ‘Blue’ the dog, see a display put on by members of the Emergency Response Unit, and Community Volunteers will be running a Child ID clinic.

This morning media relations expert Constable Steve Koopman gave us more info.

They are a pretty awesome organization of trustees who give up their own time and money to make our community, KINGSTON, even more awesome than it already is. Tonight five groups will pitch their ideas to make Kingston Awesome. What are these ideas?

Rare unreleased tracks from the abandoned sessions for a Foo Fighters album have surfaced online. In the Foo’s documentary Back and Forth , the two tracks were part of sessions that were started in late 2001 and eventually scrapped after the band spent a million dollars and four months on them. Drummer Taylor Hawkins refers to them as ‘million dollar demos’. Just like after the death of so many artists before them, the Beastie Boys sales of albums has spiked on the Billboard 200 chart. After the death of band member Adam ‘MCA’ Yauch, sales skyrocketed for the bands 1986 album Licensed To Ill. The album shot to number 18 on the chart with over 19 thousand copies sold.

The Black Keys are heading to comedy central- but not for their music. They’ll be making their acting debut on the series Workaholics. The episode is set to air sometime this summer will have singer and guitarist Dan Auerbach and drummer Patrick Carney playing two dirtbags in small claims court. The band landed their appearance on the show thanks to their friend Adam Devine, who is a big fan of the keys.

Young The Giant will also be making a TV appearance. The band will be heading to the Today show for their first ever morning television performance. The group will be performing Cough Syrup and Apartment on set. The band is set to appear on the show on May 22^nd.
