Helmet Head!
So here’s the deal: a lot of people think it’s inconvenient, unnatractive or (insert lame reason here) to ride their bikes without wearing a helmet. Having had the pleasure of slamming my head into the pavement on a couple of occasions (with a helmet), I can vouch for the “wear-one-you-moron” side of the debate. But now Hovding in Sweden has come up with a fashionable, effective and freaky-looking alternative. It’s a discreet collar one wears while riding. Sensors in it set off an airbag-like helmet if they notice a sudden jolt. I know, you’d wear it fully inflated anyway.
