NIN Reschedule Final Shows, Lady Ga Ga Likes (and licks) Green Day, Beck Covers Cohen…

The scoop on Lady Ga Ga licking Green Day’s Dookie and Beck’s latest cover project after the jump, but first!

Nine Inch Nails have rescheduled the last two dates of their ‘Wave Goodbye’ tour after an illness sidelined frontman Trent Reznor last week.

The band were supposed to perform their final show last Saturday at Los Angeles’ Echoplex, but now their upcoming show at The Wiltern will be the bands last.

Regarding Reznor’s illness according to the website TMZ, Trent developed a clogged ear while flying from his farewell shows in Chicago to Los Angeles.

Lady GaGa has admitted that she became so obsessed with Green Day’s 1994 album ‘Dookie’ that she used to lick the album’s sleeve.

The singer, who was speaking at a press conference to launch her new Heartbeats headphones product at London’s Oxford Street HMV store yesterday, revealed her love for the Californians’ album while outlining her fears for the CD and record industry.

“You know, you can download an MP3 but you cannot download a lifestyle,” Gaga said. “And the culture of music – the visual behind the music and the dream of my show and what I believe in about performance and pop music – that’s what compels young people to buy the hard album, and eat it, and smell it, and taste it.

“I remember when I bought Green Day’s ‘Dookie’, I just wanted to lick the pages from the booklet! That particular album, I mean, it is iconic.”

Beck tackled The Velvet Underground’s The Velvet Underground & Nico album for the first installment of his Record Club covers series, and now he’s out to tackle another album released in 1967 — Leonard Cohen’s Songs Of Leonard Cohen.

Beck will be aided by MGMT, Wolfmother’s Andrew Stockdale, Devendra Banhart, Little Joy’s Binki Shapiro and members of his touring band in the endeavour. He’s already posted a cover of “Suzanne” on his website, and it will be followed by one track from the album every week.
