Whether Billy Corgan is dating Jessica Simpson is anyone’s guess, but he will acknowledge he wrote the theme song for her upcoming T-V show.
Corgan tells the Chicago Tribune he wrote a poppy song with an alternative edge for Simpson’s V-H-1 show, “The Price of Beauty.” (more…)

Billboard reports that the Arcade Fire have nearly finished recording their as-yet-untitled new disc, and that it’s expected in stores in May.
They are also reportedly releasing a single earlier in 2010, which means Arcade Fire-starved fans might be satiated sooner rather than later. (more…)

Nine Inch Nails have rescheduled the last two dates of their ‘Wave Goodbye’ tour after an illness sidelined frontman Trent Reznor last week.
The band were supposed to perform their final show last Saturday at Los Angeles’ Echoplex, but now their upcoming show at The Wiltern will be the bands last. (more…)

A new book on the “grunge” scene that exploded out of Seattle and swept the music industry and the world is in stores now. Author Greg Prato’s Grunge Is Dead: The Oral History of Seattle Rock Music is “the definitive story of the Pacific Northwest music scene of the late ’80s and early ’90s.”
The book features more than 130 interviews with participants such as Pearl Jam’s Jeff Ament and Eddie Vedder, Alice In Chains’s Jerry Cantrell and Sean Kinney, Soundgarden guitarist Kim Thayil, and former Nirvana drummer Chad Channing. (more…)
