Linkin Park, Alanis Morissette and the Dave Matthews Band are among the artists donating unreleased music to help victims of the Haiti earthquake.
They have created “Download To Donate For Haiti,” a collection of songs to raise money for Linkin Park’s charity, Music For Relief, as well as Dave Matthews BAMA, Habitat for Humanity and the U-N Foundation’s Central Emergency Response Fund. (more…)

Last month John Frusciante confirmed he’s no longer a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now Josh Klinghoffer, who previously toured with the Peppers and was rumored to be Frusciante’s replacement, has revealed that he has officially joined the band, Music Radar reports. No official announcement has yet been made via the Peppers’ reps. (more…)

Coldplay have confirmed their plan to give away a live album to fans attending their forthcoming tour dates.
Chris Martin’s gang will give the nine-track live album, entitled ‘LeftRightLeftRightLeft’, to all fans attending their ‘Viva La Vida’ tour dates – including their five UK dates set for September.
The album will be available as a free download from the band’s official website, Coldplay.com, from May 15.
Coldplay’s free album plan was originally outlined in February, when Martin said, “It’s a way of saying thank you. It’s a tough economy and people are paying a lot of money for tickets.”

Pearl Jam, Beastie Boys, Sonic Youth and Elvis Costello are among the artists who will perform on the 35th season of the renowned Austin City Limits US television series this autumn.
Also performing on the new series, which premieres October 3 on PBS, are the Dave Matthews Band, Ben HarperAnd Relentless 7, M Ward and St Vincent.
Exact broadcast dates and 35th anniversary celebration details are expected to be announced in the coming weeks.

Blink 182 have denied rumours that the first single since their reformation is to be called ‘Reborn’.
Bassist and vocalist Mark Hoppus quelled talk of a new single via his Twitter account after internet reports suggested the band were planning a June release.
“For the record, Blink 182 is NOT releasing a song called ‘Reborn’ in June”, he wrote.
The band reunited in February after a four-year hiatus, and are set to do a US tour this summer. No dates have been announced as of yet.

Pearl Jam, Dave Matthews Band and the Beastie Boys will headline this year’s Outside Lands Festival on August 28-30th at San Francisco’s Golden Gate Park. M.I.A., Modest Mouse, the Mars Volta, TV on the Radio, the Dead Weather, Mastodon, Ween, Thievery Corporation, Incubus and Jason Mraz round out the fest’s initial lineup.
