Kurt Cobain and Courtney Love’s daughter Frances Bean is to make her singing debut on a track also featuring My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way, Andrew WK and Weird Al Yankovic.

Seventeen-year-old Cobain sings on ‘My Space’, which will appear on the debut album by Evelyn Evelyn, who are made up of Dresden Dolls frontwoman Amanda Palmer and Seattle musician Jason Webley. (more…)

Weakerthans frontman John K. Samson will embark on a three-date mini tour this December in support of his three-song solo recording, City Route 85.

City Route 85, which came out Nov. 3 through Anti-, is the first in a series of recordings that will explore streets, roads and highways in his home province of Manitoba. (more…)

Liam Gallagher Announces New Band…Oasish, Jack White To Produce Another Old Woman’s Album and Hawksley Workman Releasing Albums and Touring…

The scoop on Jack White’s next production venture and Hawksley Workman’s 2010 plans after the jump, but first.

Now that Oasis are “no longer,” frontman Liam Gallagher is starting a new band… with the members of Oasis who aren’t his brother Noel. Guitarist Gem Archer, bassist Andy Bell and drummer Chris Sharrock are currently working with Liam on new material, and Gallagher promises fans in an interview with an Italian radio station that this new incarnation of “Oasis” — they’ll sport a different moniker — will return to the stage shortly. The scoop on Liam Gallagher’s future music plans and Arcade Fire’s new album after the jump…but first.

Them Crooked Vultures have unveiled the studio version of “New Fang,” the first single off their self-titled debut album (see Reid’s post below to listen).

The supergroup — Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones — blend the heavy, jammy and psychedelic influences of their respective bands, and with Homme on lead vocals, “New Fang” sounds like it wouldn’t be out of place on a Queens of the Stone Age album. Liam Gallagher has declared that “Oasis is no longer” – ending speculation that he would continue the band without his brother Noel.

After the guitarist left the group following an altercation backstage in Paris there had been a suggestion that the singer would continue on with the band as the lone Gallagher. (more…)
