Radiohead played a one-off show in aid of Haiti’s earthquake survivors last night.
The band broke from recording sessions to play a gig at Los Angeles’ Music Box Theatre At The Fonda, to raise funds for Oxfam’s attempts to help the country that was hit by the natural disaster earlier this month.
With tickets for the show auctioned off in advance, the band played a full set to the packed crowd, which saw a Radiohead debut for ‘Lotus Flower’, Ateaseweb.com reports. (more…)

Them Crooked Vultures have unveiled the studio version of “New Fang,” the first single off their self-titled debut album (see Reid’s post below to listen).
The supergroup — Queens of the Stone Age’s Josh Homme, Foo Fighters’ Dave Grohl and Led Zeppelin’s John Paul Jones — blend the heavy, jammy and psychedelic influences of their respective bands, and with Homme on lead vocals, “New Fang” sounds like it wouldn’t be out of place on a Queens of the Stone Age album. Pearl Jam, R-E-M and Trent Reznor are among the musicians who are giving their support to a campaign to close the U-S military prison at Guantanamo Bay.
They have joined the U-S National Campaign to Close Guantanamo, which launched Tuesday.
Their goal is to get classified records that detail the use of loud music as an interrogation device against terrorist suspects. (more…)
