Radiohead played a one-off show in aid of Haiti’s earthquake survivors last night.
The band broke from recording sessions to play a gig at Los Angeles’ Music Box Theatre At The Fonda, to raise funds for Oxfam’s attempts to help the country that was hit by the natural disaster earlier this month.
With tickets for the show auctioned off in advance, the band played a full set to the packed crowd, which saw a Radiohead debut for ‘Lotus Flower’, Ateaseweb.com reports. (more…)

My Chemical Romance’s Gerard Way suggests the band will tour “punk clubs” for their new album, which is almost finished.
In an interview with NME, Way tells all about the follow up to 2006 album ‘The Black Parade’. As well as talking about new songs like ‘Black Dragon Fighting Society’ and ‘Light Behind Your Eyes’, he admits that he likes the idea of playing smaller venues – partly because the band’s new songs are suited to them, and partly due of the current economic climate. Last month John Frusciante confirmed he’s no longer a member of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now Josh Klinghoffer, who previously toured with the Peppers and was rumored to be Frusciante’s replacement, has revealed that he has officially joined the band, Music Radar reports. No official announcement has yet been made via the Peppers’ reps. (more…)

The White Stripes’ Jack White gave a surprise lecture at Dublin’s Trinity College Sunday night.
White,, who is currently touring with his new band The Dead Weather, addressed the University’s Philosophical Society, one of the world’s oldest student societies, that has previously counted the likes of Bram Stoker, Oscar Wilde and JB Yates among its membership. (more…)

Liam Gallagher has declared that “Oasis is no longer” – ending speculation that he would continue the band without his brother Noel.
